Privacy policy

This page explains what Veerto collects when you shorten a link, and why.

What we collect

  • The destination URL you paste
  • The short code we assign
  • Your IP address at creation time
  • Your browser user agent at creation time
  • A click count for the short link
  • Timestamps for when the link was created and last updated

Why we collect it

Destination URL and short code are required to provide the service. IP address and user agent are stored at creation for abuse prevention and security review. Click count is a basic usage counter and may support analytics later.

Google reCAPTCHA

When reCAPTCHA is enabled, Google processes a verification token to reduce automated abuse. Google may set cookies and collect device and usage data under its own privacy terms. See Google’s privacy policy for details on that processing.

Cookies

We use essential first-party cookies to run the site (session and CSRF protection), and a small notice cookie after you acknowledge this banner. Details are on the cookie policy page.

Sharing and sale of data

We do not sell your data. Creation IP and user agent are used for security and abuse control. Google acts as a processor for reCAPTCHA when that feature is enabled.

Retention

Short links and their creation metadata remain while the service needs them to resolve redirects and investigate abuse. We may delete or anonymize records that are no longer needed.
